For the hospital:
I really love gowns for the hospital because it's so easy to change their diapers and swaddle them without any hinderance. They are also super easy to get on and off. I also like to bring my own swaddling blankets that are soft and comfortable, like these bamboo ones above. They also double as a great nursing cover and car seat blanket!
When I'm helping people pick out "going home" outfits here are a few things I look for:
Make sure the size is newborn. There really is a difference between newborn and 0-3 months. For the first few weeks, newborn usually fits best. I really love a kimono top (don't have to pull it over their head and it doesn't irritate the umbilical cord), as well as footed pants so you're not dealing with socks that may or may not stay on. I also love the sweet, cotton knot hats because they are snug and warm. Booties are just a little extra warmth for their tiny feet. Lastly, don't forget hand mitts, those little nails can be razor sharp.
Did I leave anything out? What are your favorites for those first few days?

Love all your baby things. I also liked to have my nursing pillow.
ReplyDeleteLovely choice,
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she's almost here!!! I can't wait for the phone call that says you're in labor and she's on her way. :) Please tell Sam and/or Rach that, as usual, I want a picture without a hat! :)
ReplyDeleteLove you so much!
What an exciting time! I love all your posts about your latest addition to the family arriving soon. Makes me want to have another...and then I remember those toddlers (yes, plural - we have twins) upstairs driving me batty and think...meh...maybe I'll wait a little bit longer before I take that leap again! But it sure is fun to look at all the baby stuff and see others with theirs!
ReplyDeleteI'm the blog coordinator at Everyday Family and I would love to talk to you about blogging with us about Pregnancy if you would consider it! If you're interested, let me know! I didn't see an email anywhere on your site or I would have emailed you privately. Apologies for this method!
