So, this is what our house currently looks like. To say that my heart did a little flip is an understatement. We are adding an upstairs, and in order to make the ceiling height tall enough, they had to... "raise the roof." I for one will personally be raising my own roof when it's back on. Phew.
This week I have spent countless hours on the internet scouring for vintage-inspired faucets and sinks. I start in a room and then I obsess over the room until I've found the right pieces within our budget. This week the focus has been the powder room. Here's one of my inspirations for the room and then some really rad components to pull the look together. You'll have to wait and see what I finally decided on! Making decisions feels good.
I'm really obsessed with these wall mounted sinks. They're space savers and not quite as precious as a pedestal. I also love that the plumbing is exposed. I know that's not for everyone, but I dig it. I spent hours trying to find faucets with white ceramic cross handles. Found! Would love to hear your thoughts...

ReplyDeleteLove it all! We have similar tastes. I bought a pendant light similar to the one above via Pottery Barn for around $150 with free shipping. Also, check out Ikea for kitchen cabinets -- we bought our farmhouse sink there and love it.
ReplyDeleteAnd, subway tile all. the. way! Now I wish, though, that we chose darker grout because the white on white is seriously annoying to clean. I'm cleaning it every time I turn around, especially in our shower. Just a thought :)

I like your ideas Lesley! Just a thought. I have some of the ceramic faucet handles and unfortunately with age they sometimes get brittle and break off. That is a bummer!! Just wanted to let you know. All metal might last longer. Of course if you really adore the look, you could just replace them if they break.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, oh my gosh! I am feeling your pain. We just bought a 1924 total renovation!! Right now we are house "twins". Most of my interior walls are gone now...really the house looks like a war-zone...plaster dust, nails, wood, broken things...everywhere! And, I'm eating, sleeping, dreaming about faucets, windows, lighting, etc. I love your taste and wish you could just tell me what you're going to do!! Keep up the updates I really appreciate them!
