MAMA STYLE / PLAID EDITION

Paging Angela Chase... the 90's and red plaid (specifically buffalo) are back baby. I'm not quite buffalo-plaid edgy so this is how I would wear it. I want to start sharing clothes for mamas that are on-trend but that you could wear to the grocery story or park. I don't know about you but I'm not exactly wearing heels and peplum tops to play dates. I love that sweatpants are now being dressed up like these above with the "leather" trim detail on the pockets. You wouldn't be able to see it with this top but picture a worn-in tee shirt and open chambray. You could wear this over-sized flannel open as well to make it look more like a jacket. Hunter boots are a bit of a chunk but I think they will be on my Christmas list this year. They're classic and I love the green ones (these were the cheapest ones I found). I can pretend I'm Kate Moss at a music festival (right...).

You can shop the rest of the pieces below:

Also, I'm on the hunt for a really great pair of jeans. I like skinny ones. Any recommendations? Also, also tomorrow is the last day to enter the Noonday giveaway. Don't you love their heart and their line? So good.

  1. I don't know that I'd call them REALLY great, but I just grabbed a pair of skinny jeans at Old Navy and I love them! My daughter was born six weeks ago so I didn't want to splurge on a pair of jeans that will (hopefully) be too big when I get back to my pre-preg size, and these totally fit the bill. For $30 bucks, you can't lose!

    1. my thoughts exactly. studs are awesome for mamas and i find i always feel a bit more pulled together with some "classic with a lil bit of edge" earrings.

    1. LOFT has so much awesomeness. i feel like they make great clothes for women. the other day i went to h&m and it was a hot mess. i'll check out those gap skinnies for sure. do they bag out? my cheap ones i wear every day are great and then i need a belt five minutes after wearing them.

    2. they do stretch out a little, so i would go down a size. the one's i have are a size smaller than i normally wear. they take some knee bends, and wriggling to get in to but fit like a glove once they are on (and are comfy)! i hate to have to wash my jeans every time i wear them, and i can get several "wearings" out of these.

  5. Love that top!! I have a hard time wearing button downs because of my, um, birthing hips, but that might work.:)

  7. 1) Hunters are on my wish list. 2) I am LOVING plaid, but live in Miami so I am particular about when I wear it down here since I associate it with cold...or cool...er weather. 3) I live in American Eagle skinny jeans. They will run specials on them sometimes. I am not exaggerating when I saw that I have about 4 pairs of them right now. They are comfortable, soft, have a bit of stretch, and make my bum look fantastic! I have a horrendous time finding jeans, but these are wonderful.
