OUR KITCHEN ON HGTVREMODELS.COM

You guys! I have been waiting to share our kitchen for so long and I am thrilled to be able to do so today. We shot our kitchen in the spring for hgtv the week before we closed on our house (not nerve racking at all ha!). It was a beautiful sunny day and we had a total blast. You can read the entire article here with tons more photos including all of the before's! I also went into details on my decision making process as well as what we did to cut down on cost. Hope it will maybe help some of you in your own kitchen renovation. We did the entire thing for under $10,000 which let me tell you is a huge accomplishment. I'll have all of the sources at the bottom of the post. Special thanks to Annette Joseph for her beautiful styling and to Deborah Whitlaw Llewellyn for taking such gorgeous photos!

  29. This is my first time visiting your blog, and I LOVE your kitchen. But, after reading the article, how did you keep it under )10,000? With putting in a door, changing walls, all the appliances, tradespeople, how does all that come in under 19 grand? Do you have a budget breakdown? Or was it just the cabinets that were that price? I'm not trying to be nosy, but if you say it can be done, then I nut be able to do mine a lot sooner than I thought! Thanks!

    1. hey debby! the structural changes were actually in our "framing" budget, so you're right... that would not be included. we did an entire renovation so it's hard to put a tight dollar amount on each room. here's the basic breakdown: cabinets, sink, hood, countertops: 3500 (yup - it was during IKEA's kitchen sale so we got 20% off) / cabinet installation: 1000 / appliances: 2400 (purchased during a major sale - more on this in the HGTV article) / hardware: 100 / shelves: 200 / windows/doors: 2000 (approx)

it's been so long since we've done it that i'm sure i'm forgetting something but that's the gyst. we saved a lot not doing upper cabinets and we had some good breaks. good luck!!

    2. forgot tile: 250 install, 100 for tile :)

    3. and lighting was around 350. ha!

  31. Hey! Where did you get the brackets for your shelves and do they make them in white? Having the hardest time finding white brackets that aren't too modern but aren't country. Love these! (And everything else!)

    1. hey girl! sorry for the wait! they are just from home depot. we got the same brackets and spray painted them white for another project. thanks and hope that helps! xo

  33. Hi, I just found your blog and I love your style. This kitchen is so pretty. I especially like the touches of black in the brackets, windows and lights. Where did you get the pendant lighting? I didn't see them on the resource list.

  34. Hi Lesley! Love your kitchen. Do you mind sharing your grout brand/color? Looking for a nice light gray for our subway tile backsplash. Also what spacing did you use? We are planning on 1/16" so I believe we'll need to use unsanded grout. Thanks!!

    1. hi elizabeth and thank you! i don't know the brand unfortunately but it was called "smoke grey." also not sure of the spacing. sorry! good luck!

  36. Hi there... so I actually purchased the amazing drawer pulls you have in your kitchen. And the knobs you suggest. But when I received them I found the finish on the pulls is different from the finish on the knobs. Are the knobs you have discontinued? I am having a hard time finding knobs to match. And you KNOW I am not about to change out those amazing pulls. ;-)

    1. Hi Cutzi! These are the exact knobs we used: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Martha-Stewart-Living-1-in-Goblet-Cabinet-Hardware-Knob-P20634C-474-CP/202241344 Just found the original packaging. Ours match exactly. So glad you love the hardware! It's one of my favorite parts of the kitchen. Have a great day!
