Minted + Mom 2.0 Summit

Friday night I had the total pleasure of co-hosting the Minted party at the Ritz in Buckhead for the Mom 2.0 Summit. The talented Annette Joseph and I had so much fun designing this party along with help from our friends at Minted. It was a totally memorable and awesome night and I met the nicest people at the conference! Seriously, so nice.

Welcome to Minted's Winners Circle! The bunting banner was printed in this design. Because the party was the same weekend as the Derby, we went with a derby theme. My other fabulous co-hosts, Natasha and Janae from Minted, came decked out in hats and fascinators! I was totally coveting their headwear. :) Here's a little breakdown of the design process as well as all of the resources...

We really wanted to create a feminine take on the derby with lots of mint green and pink with touches of cream and metallics. We wanted the guests of the conference to be able to relax and enjoy themselves in an elegant and festive environment.  To do this we created a living room within the room and I was thrilled that people were sitting around the table all night. In order to capture that vintage, romantic vibe we wanted we rented this gorgeous couch with sorbet-colored pillows, coffee table, and green velvet high back chair from our friends at Blue Eyed Yonder. If you ever need furniture/prop rentals for a wedding or party... they are a dream to work with!

The coffee table was decorated with Modern Marble table confetti, vintage horse trophies, gorgeous florals in mint julep cups and silver trophies as well as custom planners from Minted for the attendees. The flowers were done by Alex and his team from Cut Flower Wholesale. They did an incredible job! Beautiful pink roses, red berries, and delicate greenery were the perfect arrangements for the girly night. They also created the most stunning floral wreaths that we adorned with customized greeting signs in Modern Marble and Modern Mint. The tables were all covered with customized runners (here and here) that could easily be wiped down.

The high tops provided by the Ritz were draped in silver table cloths and decorated with trophies filled with flowers, vintage horse ribbons, and glass votives. Annette (the queen of Picture Perfect Parties) had the brilliant idea to rent these trophies as well as horse ribbons, riding caps and other derby paraphernalia. They added the perfect "collected feel" and also doubled as photo booth props!

One of my assignments was to create an inspiration board for the party. I have been making collages my whole life so I was pretty excited about this! I wanted to highlight Minted's gorgeous range and play on our derby theme at the same time. I used art prints (like this one, this one, and this one) as well as invitations (like this one, this one, and this one), business cards, mom calling cards, Mother's Day cards (love this one!), return address stickers, custom gift tags, some trinkets from my house, and vintage horse ribbons and photographs. We used black and white foam core that I mounted to the wall with 3M tape. I used washi tape and heavy metal tacks to "pin" everything. As you can see both of my girls made an appearance. Love these gold foil baby announcements and this custom stationary. So sweet!

Guests were served "Minted Juleps" (with or without alcohol - lots of pregnant and nursing mamas in attendance!). We also had iced tea on hand. Each glass was served with a pink striped straw and custom flag stickers. I love the pretty mint in the glasses alongside the pink straw. We had custom table signs designed for the bar as well. I was so happy to run into my dear friend Kate from 4moms and made her pose for me. :)

We had a little treat table set up with trophy and bubble apothecary jars filled with green m&ms and gold spray-painted horses (found here!). This picture makes me a little sad because the light + glass made it really blown out but trust me it was so pretty. Mint green and white honeycomb fans were strung with coordinating velvet ribbon. More flowers were added of course and I just can't get enough of these mint green cake stands. The stands were also piled with custom planners for guests to take. We added table signs here as well with the custom hashtags for the party. So fun!

Last but not least... these customizable photo backdrops (we used this one and this one) were the hit of the party. These backdrops are made from the nicest fabric and are HUGE, perfect for taking instagram pics which you know bloggers are all about. You can see some of my favorites from the night at the end. The party hashtags (especially the #mom2summit one) were the most photographed. Printing the hashtags on different design elements throughout the room was one of my favorite ideas from the night.
