ATLANTA GUIDE: THE WESTSIDE

I've recently received a few emails from visitors requesting my favorite spots in Atlanta. This guide is carefully curated with some expert advice from friends + family as well as my personal picks for a night out, brunching, day trips, etc. Hope you enjoy and I would love to hear some of your favorites that I may have missed!

The Westside - West Midtown
The Westside is where I spend most of my time in Atlanta. My home away from home. I love the overall vibe and you can't go wrong eating + shopping here for the afternoon. Here are some of the best places to experience and my personal favorites will have an asterisk.

Eat + Drink

West Egg - great brunch, beautiful interior (inspiration for my house for sure!), old-fashioned photo booth. Don't miss the coca-cola cupcakes.
*Star Provisions - Hands down one of my top three favorite places to eat (get the Fallafel!) and shop. General store with ingenius displays serving breakfast + lunch.
Taqueria Del Sol - prepare to stand in line for delicious tacos (fried chicken!) and their famous salsa trio. PS no high chairs.
*Yeah! Burger - I love Yeah! Burger. There are a billion burger places right now but their turkey burger (with grilled onions and blue cheese) + sweet potato fries always win. Super kid-friendly.
Jeni's ice cream - Lucky for us you can pretty much eat ice cream year round in Atlanta. The ice cream darling, Jeni's just set up shop in the Westside Provisions.
Abattoir - french for slaughterhouse, Abattoir is known for its meat but don't miss the veggie plate (especially the brussel sprouts). Great cocktails, too!
JCT - southern food at its finest. One of my favorite interiors. A great spot for birthdays or dates. Love the bar upstairs for drinks + bites and live music. Order the parmesan fries oh and coconut cake.
The Optimist - gorgeous seafood + oyster bar. A definite favorite with people in the know.
Bocado - best burger in Atlanta, the rest of the menu is delicious too.
Octane - favorite coffee spot.
*Antico - hop on over to Hemphill for the best pizza in the city. Don't miss the homemade canollis. No highchairs and it's all about the food. You eat in the kitchen family-style. There is typically a wait. Read Anna's local notes here.
Nuevo Laredo - killer authentic mexican. Awesome margaritas.

Shop

Sid + Ann Mashburn - you can now shop men's and women's in this power couple shopping destination. If you are looking for custom, enjoy their in-house tailoring. Southern hospitality + expert craftsmanship are what they are all about. I get Sam's bow-ties here.
*seed factory - the best place to shop for kids in the city. An amazing selection of wooden toys, books, unique clothing and gifts. Love!
Simply Put - Great stationary and all around gift shop. I can always find something cool here.
Billy Reid - Gorgeous men's and women's fashion in an expertly edited fashion. Prepare to want it all.
Star Provision - see above
Calypso - if money were no object I would only shop here. Gorgeous pieces to add to your wardrobe.
Room & Board - stunning showroom featuring their insanely awesome collection of housewares + furniture.
Anthropologie - my favorite location - boutique style and quite edited.
Bungalow Classic - farmhouse inspiration galore.
Stanton Home Furnishings - worth the short trip to see this carefully curated home store.
Jonathan Adler - get your color fix in this chic boutique. I love his ceramic collection.
The Sentimentalist - gawk over the absolutely stunning gowns in this lovely bridal shop. Makes me want to get married again!

You can also find a high-end women's JCrew, Free People, Jack Spade, and more!
