I know that 2020 has brought more questions than answers but what I keep coming back to is “how can I use this time/this year well?” It’s so easy to want to just wave the white flag but what if God is teaching us? Surely there are opportunities for growth always but this year? This year feels different.

Here are some really simple ways that you can dig deeper into your faith.

  1. Keep your Bible out. When you are tempted to run to social media or Netflix, it’s a gentle calling and reminder to run towards truth.

  2. Grab a favorite devotional and keep it with it. Here are some favorites: Jesus Calling, Streams in the Desert (my fave!!), New Morning Mercies. I typically read the devotional (which lately have been right.on.time.) and then look up the accompanying verses. When life feels overwhelming, this feels very doable.

  3. Invest in a Bible Study. My girls and I meet every morning at 7:00 in our living room to pray and learn about the Bible. We are starting with Seamless because it weaves the Bible into one cohesive story. My girls are 7 and 11. It’s teaching them how to use their Bibles and look up verses and we are learning SO much together!

  4. Download the Blue Letter Bible app. I love using this when I have questions. I got check out the commentary and really helps bring things to life for me.

  5. Carve out quiet time to pray, journal, and meditate on God’s word. Even fifteen minutes can refresh your soul.
