Highlander Mountain House - Highlands, NC

We just recently celebrated 16 years of marriage!! We have grown so much - it’s sweet to see where God has woven our stories both together and separately. This year we wanted a beautiful and cozy getaway. After finding the Highlander Mountain House on instagram (thanks, Soph!) we knew it would be perfect.

They described their style as “English Country meets the Mountains.” English country is my absolute favorite so they had me right then and there. They also used two of the same wallpapers we have in our home. Felt really validated haha!

• Have dinner or breakfast at The Roughed Grouss (they also have complimentary pastries and coffee there in the morning!).

• Read by the fire in the main space or in the tavern.

• Have breakfast at the Blue Bike (get there early!)

• Get a massage or facial at Old Edwards Inn and stay for the day at the spa.

• Grab drinks or dinner at Four65 (we got the cheese plate which was unreal!).

• My friend April recommended coffee + firepit at The Wells Hotel.

• Grab whatever you need at the cutest Mountain Grocery store (they also have great coffee and breakfast!).

• Enjoy a scenic hike! Our friend Stephanie recommended this one.

• Enjoy!!!! Walk around main street, go shopping, eat great food, soak up the fresh mountain air.
