The Hideaway Camping Retreat

For fall break we went to one of our favorite escapes - Navarre Beach. We stayed at The Hideaway Camping retreat which was under construction while we were there but we can tell it’s going to be so beautiful after the renovations! We stayed at site 12 and it had the most beautiful views of the bay.

We love how slow paced this part of the panhandle is. The sign says, “Most Relaxing Beach in Florida” when you pull in and it truly is. We love driving out past the main pier and going to the National Park at Opal Beach. Miles and miles of beach and that’s it. They have some covered picnic tables and rest rooms and otherwise it’s just white sandy beaches and the beautiful blue ocean of the gulf.

Some of our favorite spots:

  • La Iguana taco truck - one of my favorite meals that we had here. Get the carnitas!

  • Tommy’s Snoballs - the kids LOVE Tommys. It’s neon colored with a ton of flavors, happy lights, and picnic tables. Matilda got the Butter Beer and it was delish!

  • The Beach House Bar and Grill is inside the brand new Springhill Suites right on the beach. An amazing patio and good food.

  • We ordered takeout from Shrimp Basket and everyone loved.

  • You can get fresh seafood and get it steamed at Navarre Seafood Market

  • Dewey Destin’s is right on the beach and we loved it! This was my personal favorite spot.
