Farm Update September

Getting caught up on sharing some of the things we have been doing around the farm. We have been very busy but things still feel like they are crawling some days. We painted the church/school room/ office Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams. We painted the inside Pure White by Sherwin Williams. We also painted the inside of the party barn and have removed the metal garage next to the stone house.

My Dad and Sam and a small crew demoed the inside of our future home and we had hardwoods patched in to match the existing. I’m so excited about our plan for the kitchen and can’t wait to see it all come together.

We replaced the doors in the cottage with a style similar to our last home and painted them my favorite blue. Still need to rip out this linoleum and those plastic countertops. One day at a time!

We’ve had plenty of hiccups… a broken dryer (although I adore hanging clothes on a line), a run over scooter and gate sensor, two busted windshields (both mine - a first after 40 years), and water leaks. God has been so faithful and we have had wonderful servicemen out here to help us. I love how kind country people are.

The girls are settling into our new school and we are very much loving CC aka Classical Conversations. We have a church here and new friends and although we have room and roots to grow, I’m not longer on zillow everyday. Sam and I are feeling more and more passionate about cultivating the land and making the farm a special place for people to visit. This year’s focus is certainly on getting our home renovated and finding a place for all of our belongings but next year… I cannot wait!
