Rethinking Social Media for 2021

Our breakfast nook with the new chairs I ordered

As we are settling into the new year I have been very reflective about how I show up on social media, what memories I share, what I keep just for my heart or maybe text a friend to share. I have thought about the last decade online as I march toward 40, hyper aware of where I got caught up, what no longer serves me or you or my family.

Instead of burning my phone or tossing it into the ocean, in 2021 I am focusing on quality vs quantity. I don’t want to be another distraction or noise but to offer value, heart, and hopefully some ideas you can incorporate in your own homes and lives. You are all more than worthy of God’s goodness, of creating, of living a life with purpose - I hope to offer my small gifts to encourage you along the way.

I am reading this book. This quote stopped me in my tracks: “researchers have begun warning of an epidemic of loneliness in the united states. experts are calling it a public health crisis, as feeling isolated and disconnected increases the risk of premature death as much as obesity and alcoholism combined.”

Let’s talk to each other, let’s get offline more than we are online. Pick up the phone, facetime a friend. make this year make this statistic false for anyone you can. ❤️❤️❤️
