Goodbye to Summer, Hello to Fall

It’s August in the South, which usually means humidity you can cut with a knife and heatwaves that seem to last forever. But every now and then, we get lucky, a couple of cooler, breezy days sneak in, almost like nature’s way of whispering, “Hold on, fall is coming.”

This week, we had two of those rare Southern treasures. The mornings were crisp enough for coffee on the porch without breaking a sweat, and the evenings invited us to crack open the windows instead of cranking up the AC. The cicadas were still buzzing, but even they seemed a little more mellow.

And just like that, my thoughts turned to pumpkins, cinnamon, and cozy throws.
